Entertainment journalism as a resource for public connection

For a decade, we thought social media was a distraction from entertainment. Wrong. It is the delivery system.

While "entertainment" refers to the activity of providing pleasure or diversion, "popular media" refers to the mass communication channels that distribute this content to a wide audience. The Convergence : Modern media has blurred these lines. For example,

The promotional campaign for Greta Gerwig’s Barbie serves as the gold standard for linking a traditional entertainment asset with popular media. Months before the film's release, the studio launched an AI-powered "Barbie Selfie Generator." This tool allowed everyday users, influencers, and brands to insert themselves into the movie’s promotional posters. Entertainment journalism as a resource for public connection

Content avoids a quick drop in relevance after release day by maintaining steady conversation across media channels.

To effectively link entertainment and media, brands and creators are focusing on several key pillars: Start by selecting entertainment topics that resonate with

In the modern media landscape, the boundaries between different forms of entertainment have entirely dissolved. Consumers no longer just watch a show or play a game; they inhabit expansive narrative universes that span multiple platforms. For content creators, marketers, and media companies, the ability to link entertainment content and popular media has become the ultimate strategy for capturing sustained audience attention.

I think its the start… there's worse to come.

Interesting. I'm also blocked and I'm using Google's DNS and not Virgin Media's. A simple VPN service can still access Pirate Bay as predicted.

Argh, me hearties and shiver me timbers. I hope it doesn't happen in Australia. I'd never be able to "evaluate" anything.

Italy routinely blocks gambling sites which are not registered with the state gambling monopoly (http://www.aams.gov.it) … which would appear to violate the spirit of free commerce within the EU.

I’m another person who thinks it’s a terrible decision by the court. It won’t make a dent in piracy, but just makes it easier for more censorship of websites in the future than private companies such as music rights holders disagree with for any reason.

Sites in the U.S have already been mistakenly taken offline and then brought back a year later, for example. If that’s someone’s sole earnings, then they’re utterly stuck for 12 months without cash, and presumably might not even know until one day their traffic drops off a cliff.

The only good thing is that at least I can avoid using ISPs that have complied with these court orders for the time being, along with using a VPS etc, and that it may encourage more people in the future to check out the Pirate Party, Open Rights Group, etc etc.
